Internship Agronomy

In our Agronomy department, we do lots of plant research. For example, how does the crop behave in an indoor farm? And how can we influence this crop development? With your interest in greenhouse horticulture, you can put the knowledge you gained during your studies in Plant Sciences, Biology or Crop Science directly into practice. Is this your cup of tea? Read on quickly.

In practice

We realize complex greenhouse horticulture projects around the world, which present the necessary challenges. A supermarket that wants to be self-sufficient in lettuce, an investor that wants to grow medicinal cannabis with robots, a food producer that wants to produce hyper-locally with an indoor farm, or one of Europe’s most innovative growers that wants to grow even more controlled. Challenging issues, where we could really use your fresh perspective and help!

As a trainee in our Agronomy department, you will work on a botanical research project focused on pre-harvest. Here you can think about issues such as: How does the crop behave in an indoor farm? And how can we influence this crop development? Together with your internship supervisor, you will draw up a clear research design and monitor the crop from start to finish. You take measurements, and write your research, but also enjoy helping out in our Certhon Innovation Centre: our pilot center where we conduct research into growing without daylight. Here, we help our growers with the cultivation process of tomatoes, strawberries, raspberries, and peppers, among others.

Grow as one. Are you ready?

At Certhon, we have a mission. We enable entrepreneurs, anywhere in the world, to grow safe and locally produced food. Whether it is tomatoes in the desert in a super high-tech greenhouse or strawberries in Hong Kong in an indoor farm. We have all the knowledge, know-how, and technologies to make that happen. In fact: we are already doing it! During your internship, you can contribute to this mission!

What we expect from you:

  • You are studying (HBO/WO) in the direction of Plant Sciences, Cultivation Science, Biology, or Horticulture
