Certhon takes sustainable steps with new construction project for Opti-flor Share this post facebook twitter whatsapp linkedin This summer Certhon proudly started the realization of Opti-flor’s innovative new construction project. This project, located on Waellandweg, marks an important step towards a sustainable future for the horticultural sector. During the first phase, the focus was on the underground installation work for the 32,790 m² greenhouse complex. From WKO wells to kilometers of piping, all of it was the foundation for what will soon be a state-of-the-art greenhouse. While this essential work will become virtually invisible, it is critical to the future success of the complex. Meanwhile, the innovative greenhouse builder has begun the next phase, in which they will continue to build above ground on this ambitious project. The steel is up in the air and with it, big steps are now visibly being made. “The new greenhouse is fully in line with Opti-flor’s vision of innovation and environmental awareness,” says Jim van Zeijl, project manager at Certhon. Equipped with advanced facilities such as 100% LED lighting, heat pumps, cold and heat sources, and energy-saving glass where and Low-E coating is incorporated, this greenhouse will be an outstanding example of sustainability. This high-performance greenhouse is expected to be ready for production in the fall of 2025. “Together with Opti-flor and the construction partners, we are building the greenhouse of the future, where innovation and sustainability go hand in hand,” said Van Zeijl.
