Well-attended MTO Event at Certhon Share this post facebook twitter whatsapp linkedin On Friday, November 7, Certhon welcomed over 50 visitors to an inspiring MT-ATES event, organized by Glastuinbouw Nederland and Greenport West-Holland. The program provided a broad insight into Medium Temperature Storage (MT-ATES): the technology that stores excess heat underground during the summer for reuse in the winter. Certhon colleagues Leon van Santen and Robin Klamer shared Certhon’s vision and experiences with this innovative seasonal buffer. Visitors gained insight into applications, monitoring, and requirements, and had the opportunity to see the daylight-free orchid trial up close. The exchange of knowledge and ideas between growers, experts, and stakeholders proved both valuable and inspiring. At Certhon, we work daily on solutions that connect technology, economics, and the environment. MT-ATES is therefore an important step in increasing energy independence and achieving fossil-free horticulture. Thanks to pilot permits in South Holland, heat can now be safely stored at temperatures of up to approximately 50 °C. It is a logical yet groundbreaking continuation of our decades-long experience with LT-ATES systems. Curious about MT-ATES and how it differs from LT-ATES? Read more
